Sylvia Henderson is a Principal Consultant with Mercer’s Workforce Rewards line of business for the Florida market, where she serves in a client-facing advisory, relationship, and engagement leadership role. As a senior advisor to HR leaders and business executives, she translates market insight and workforce analytics into a pragmatic, scalable career- and reward-focused programs that improve retention, internal mobility and role clarity. Sylvia also serves as a speaker at Mercer-led webinars and roundtables throughout the state of Florida. With more than 30 years of HR experience in total rewards, learning and organizational development, designing and delivering solutions across corporate and consulting roles. Sylvia specializes in market competitive analysis, skills-enabled job architecture, HR strategy and transformation, and designing and implementing practical total rewards programs that support business growth for multinational publicly traded and privately held organizations.
Prior to joining Mercer, Sylvia ran her own consulting practice in Florida, advising clients on total rewards philosophy and strategy, competitive market analysis, and talent development. In corporate roles she served as Group Director of Rewards at a major technology company in South Florida, where she was responsible for global compensation, short‑term incentives, wellness, corporate citizenship, and international benefits. Earlier in her career she held HR leadership positions with Citicorp, Rexall, and Office Depot.
Sylvia holds an MBA from Florida Atlantic University and a BS in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She is certified as SPHR and CCP and is an active member of SHRM and WorldatWork. Giving back is central to Sylvia’s values—she serves on her church’s management team in an HR capacity and is the liaison for Residing Hope, a Florida children’s home.
