Michael Davis is an innovative human resources professional specializing in HRIS system implementation, Job Analysis, Compensation, Benefits Administration, Training, and Organizational Strategy. His 15+ years of experience includes working in higher education, government, and hospitality industries.
Michael currently serves as the Associate Director of Compensation and Benefits at Florida Atlantic University. Student enrollment at FAU is over 30,000 and is supported by 6,000 Faculty and Staff. He provides consultation to university executives for position management, salary inquiries, organizational structure, career paths, and a multitude of benefits related topics. Michael serves as a leader for events such as the annual benefits fair, educational seminars for employees, and end-user training. He is a subject matter expert in the configuration and development of HRIS systems which stems from his critical involvement as the compensation lead for FAU’s Workday HCM/Finance implementation project. Michael is also an integral member of the Business Process Optimization, Administrative Systems Governance, Workday Governance, and Student Residency Appeals committees. He strives to provide positive outcomes involving the alignment of business strategy, policy, customer service, and organizational planning.
Michael is an alumnus of the University of Central Florida and earned a double Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Interpersonal/Organizational Communication. He also holds a Master’s of Science degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Florida International University. In addition, Michael is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through HRCI.
